Humane Society - Incorporated in 1922. They do euphemize animals.
Animal Rescue Foundation of Alberta - They rescue stray and abandoned dogs and cats from First Nations and rural areas.
Furever After Rescue Society - Rescues dogs from high kill shelters, disasters, neglect and other tragic situations from Canada and the United States.
Angel’s Dream Small Animal Rescue - Works with owner surrenders and other situations. Private foster homes and no government funding at this time.

Edmonton
Humane Society - Operates independently of all other organizations and is Edmonton and area’s ONLY animal shelter. They accept owner surrendered animals and stray animals from outside of city limits.
4 Paws Animal Rescue - A non-profit animal rescue with over 120 cats and kittens that are either undergoing treatment, being socialized or awaiting adoption.  They will not put down any animal that can be saved. 

Medicine Hat
SOS Pet Rescue - Located in Redcliff, just outside Medicine Hat. They specialize in older or handicapped animals, but not restricted to them.
SPCA - They don't receive government funding, so help them out.
